Review: Yatai Ramen, Seaside Macapagal

I. LOVE. FOOD. There's no doubt about it. Aside from various Asian and Greek cuisines, I am also into seafood, regardless of what and how it is cooked. Sometimes I feel like in my past life, I lived in a beach filled with fresh seafood, just relaxing the whole time in a tropical paradise (yes I'm a beach lover too!)

That's why when we have special occasions or a good family gathering, I always request for fresh produce from Dampa or what others call as Seaside Macapagal. Some of the must-haves on the table include giant shrimps, clams, and the famous crabs.

We've been here hundreds of times before and went to various restaurants that will cook whatever it is that you bought from the market. Some made fantastic and mouth-watering menu while others made us felt like we wasted the money spent for their services (and also for the expenses on the seafood bought).

But the latter wasn't the case when we ate at Yatai Ramen at Seaside Macapagal. This is one of the restaurants located at the front area of Dampa. It is open until 2 AM, thus accommodating foodies like us who are allergic to the traffic and the crowd. Though they have an indoor air-conditioned restaurant, they also have an outdoor area for smokers and those who would like to enjoy the live band at night.

So what the heck am I still doing, blabbing? Without further ado, here you go ladies and gents.

Sweet and Spicy Shrimp
We also ordered the old-fashioned buttered garlic shrimp for the kids. This one tasted more like chopsuey sauce but it has a spicy after-taste.

Crab Alavar

The crab alavar isn't on their menu. This was recommended though by one of their waiters and said it was a house specialty so we tried. It didn't failed us and we even saved some so we can eat the left overs at home. It's the right blend of coconut milk and curry sauce with the perfect spice as well.

Shrimp Tempura
Before the rice came, the shrimp tempura was served. It was so yummy I just ate it on its own.

Clam Tom Yum Soup
I didn't know that Tom Yum soups have calamansi. But the bitter-sour taste was just right for us. Again, our tongues are looking for that flame/fire-y feeling so needless to say that this soup is also spicy along with the other foods on the table. However, you can tell them how you like it cooked depending on your preference.

Check out Yatai Ramen at Seaside Macapagal and see (or taste) for yourself. Their service is also impeccable and they would even put the soup on individual bowls, would cater to your every needs, and offer to wrap everything up so you can take the rest of the leftovers with you. They truly deserve to have that tip and the service charge for cooking these amazing dishes as well.

Have you been to Dampa lately? Which of those stalls/restaurants is your suki? :D

xoxo

Omg, those are just mouth-watering. How much did you spend on that Crab Alavar? I'd like to take my family there.
