Rave: Tasty Boy is Tasty Indeed

Few weeks ago, I received a gift pack from Ajinomoto that includes their products meant for cooking moms like me. No, branded items doesn't make me happy. Instead, I feel excited whenever I get something like these in the mail or even as a gift from friends.

I've been using Crispy Fry for as long as I can remember but I'm not aware that it's a product of Ajinomoto. The kids love it especially if their chicken is extra crispy. I checked the other items included in the gift pack and surprised to see that they also have another breading variant called Tasty Boy. It was a familiar brand but I just can't recall where I read it until I realized that it was from a site that compared the different available breading variants in the market that would deliver the same taste as Shakey's famous mojo potatoes.

Tasty Boy upclose =D

So needless to say, I tried using Tasty Boy to make my own mojo potato as their snack for that day. I'm glad I did because it tasted different than my ever-reliable Crispy Fry. It has more garlic kick in it and saltier too, just right for our taste. It didn't tasted the same as Shakey's mojo potato but my kids loved it. We used the same dip that they use at the restaurant and it tasted fantastic!

I fried 6 batches of these.
Here's a tip: Add baking powder to your breading to make your fried food crispier, according to Manang Fishball at the kanto! It works best for all fried foods especially chicken and porkchop.

After a couple of days, I was announced as one of the winners of Ajinomoto's recipe book and coffee table book. There were more than hundred pages of recipes cooked the traditional way and I still can't decide which one should I try first. All of the photos inside are truly mouth-watering. So thank you Ajimoto!

Try the Tasty Boy if you want to have an alternative for your fried foods or snacks. Cooking this pre-cut potatoes will not just save you money but you can also enjoy a different taste at home as well.

Disclaimer: Ajinomoto gave me NO compensation, bribery, nor death threats to write this review of their product. I wholeheartedly wrote this as part of my cooking experience and how my kids liked it.

xoxo

I'm so curious! My dad is not allowed to eat dishes with seasoning so we've become used to eating dishes without them too, but I'm not closing my doors on it!

We're trying to stay off the processed products as much as we can, but we do enjoy a treat of Crispy fry here at home once in a while. We love the original mix but personally, I prefer the seasoned crumbs a bit more because they're less salty for me. :)
